Makeup Forever Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder– This is a higher end powder but it works so so well!

When you apply powder after your makeup, you can lightly dust it on with the Bronzer + Blush Brush. You can use the Power Powder Brush to lightly press it on. Or you can put a thick layer on with the Power Powder Brush and let it sit on your face for a few minutes to soak up the excess oils. Then you take the Bronzer + Blush Brush to brush off the excess powder. This method is called baking. It’s really great for women with very oily skin.

So yes, you can definitely wear Seint (Maskcara) cream foundation if you have oily skin! You’ve just got to try a few techniques to see what works best for you. Once you try it, you will love it!

What is a makeup sponge?

A makeup sponge is a funny looking tear drop sized sponge that is used to help blend your makeup. It’s a great invention that helps blend your makeup to give you a flawless face. But you can’t just use it as is. You have to prep the sponge first.

Get it Wet

So, the first step when using a makeup sponge is to get it wet. Turn on your faucet and hold the sponge under the stream of water. Gently squeeze the makeup sponge in and out until it soaks up enough water that it’s just about double in size. Then you want to wring it out really good. Reeeeallly good. You don’t want to be using a sopping wet sponge on your face because then it will mess up your makeup! Make sure you squeeze out all the excess water. If you need to, you can use a towel to help you get it nice and dry. You still want it damp though.

Dab, Dab, Dab

Next, we dab! No, we’re not talking about the dance move. We’re talking about dabbing that moist makeup sponge on your face. Why would you do that?? Dabbing the sponge all over your face will allow it to remove the excess makeup and give you that flawless look. It helps blend the harsh lines and melt the look all together. Simply use the sponge in rolling motions on your face. Use gentle motions so you don’t take off all of your makeup.

• Now take a few steps back.

You want to have natural lighting, but not direct lighting. By facing an open window and taking a few steps back, this will allow a nice natural light to be on your face. And this will help us see your natural skin color so we can properly color match you!

How to Define Your Brows

You know I’m all about simplicity. Getting back to the basics. Beauty should be easy. And a step that is often neglected in your beauty routine is defining your brows! But it shouldn’t be a hard step. Here is how to define your brows and how you can easily do it in your home!

Once your brows are nice and maintained, you need to give them a beautiful look by defining them. How do you do that?? Easy peasy. Just take an angled brow brush and either some eyeshadow or contour color that coordinates with your brow hair color. With just two things, you can get your brows lookin gooood!

How to Define your Brows

First off, it doesn’t do any good to define your brows by filling them in if they’re not maintained. You don’t want to accentuate bushy and furry brows. Your brows should be a nice shape before you define them. You can refer to brow maintenance here for some other great brow tips before you start with this step.

Take your angled brow brush, dip it in the eyeshadow or contour shade and fill in your brows. You want to use short hair like motions to mimic the look of hair growth. If you want a more natural look, then just simply fill in the areas of in your brows to make them appear fuller. If you want your brows really defined and dramatic, then use the brush to shape around your brow.

Defining your brows helps frame your face. It gives your brows definition and shape that helps finish off your look. It just tops your look off and gives your face a beautiful touch!

Beauty Basics Brow Maintenance

Raise your hand if you want beautiful brows! Brows can really make or break your look. Taking care of your brows is such an easy but important step in your beauty process. So here is a beauty basics brow maintenance tutorial for you so you can get good brows in your home!

Shape

First off, you want to make sure you have a nice shape to your brows. This may mean that you need to invest in getting them professionally waxed or threaded or tweezed. But trust me, it’s well worth the money to get started on the right foot! You will save money in the long run because you can maintain them from home.

Boundaries

Once your brows are a nice shape, you want to make sure that they stay within their boundaries. Brows have boundaries?! You betcha! Simply take a pencil or makeup brush and place it vertically along the side of your nose and the inner corner of your eye. You don’t want your brow hair to grow past this point. Next, take the brush and place it diagonally from your nose to the outer corner of your eye. Your brow hair should not grow past this point. Easy peasy right??

Tweeze

Now what do you do if your hair is growing past your boundaries? What if you have stragglers making their way away from the beautiful brow shape? All you have to do is tweeze! But you must do it properly. Take a good set of tweezers and grab a lone hair. You want to tweeze in the same direction of the hair growth. This will allow the hair to come out easily without breaking the hair. It will also prevent ingrown hairs. Do this with all the stragglers that are outside of the beautiful brow boundaries.

Trim

You have a nice brow shape, they have boundaries, and they are tweezed. Great! But you must also make sure they are trimmed! Just like you need frequent haircuts, your brows need frequent trims. You do not want long, out of control hair growing on your beautiful face! You only need two things: cuticle scissors and a mascara wand. Simply take the wand and brush the hair up. Then take your scissors and trim the excess hair growth. And that’s it!

By shaping, having boundaries, tweezing, and trimming your brows you will have beautiful brows to frame your face! I love me some beauty basics and this is basic brow maintenance that you can easily do in your home! Good luck!
