Busy Mom Maskcara Makeover

I recently got to travel to the States for a quick trip. And with that trip I got to do some fun makeovers on some beautiful women! It’s always so fun to reconnect with people I grew up with and to see where life has led them. I knew Kelly from church and she is the sweetest! She is a mom to 4 littles and her days are filled with serving her family. This busy mom Maskcara makeover was a treat to do and I love how she looked and felt after!

The Makeover Process

Kelly’s skin is snowy white perfection with hardly a blemish in sight. We used White Peach for her highlight color and applied it under her eyes, on her nose, under her nose, on her chin, and on her forehead. The highlight just helped even out her skin tone. Next we took Olive as her Contour and brushed it onto her cheekbones, jawline, and along her hairline. We dabbed some Pink Grapefruit on the apples of her cheeks to give her a little color. Pearl was the perfect illuminator for her skin and added a nice glow. For her eyes, we went with a neutral and light look by using Mama, Oak, and Sabrina, and Salem as her eyeliner. We used the same eyeshadow color of Oak and filled in her brows a bit to give them some definition. She wasn’t afraid of a bold lip so we topped her look off with Ruby. She is a beauty!

Before and After Natural Beauty Mom

This is my friend Shannon. She and her family welcomed our family with open arms when we first moved to New Zealand. She has 3 boys and when all of our kids get together, it’s a party! Our favorite thing to do with their family is to go on hikes or beach walks together. It’s the perfect way to let the kids interact and get their energy out. The kids play & explore while the parents get to chat & catch up. Win win. Shannon doesn’t like to wear lots of makeup and prefers the natural look. So for this before and after I did a light coverage to give her a natural beauty mom look.

Process

I have found that Aura is a super versatile highlight color! It’s amazing how many women can wear this color! I applied a light coverage of highlight under her eyes, nose, and forehead. After determining that she has a cool skin tone, I used Ash as her contour. This step never fails to impress me! I love how the color brings out those cheekbones on every woman! Since she’s not used to wearing tons of makeup, I stuck with a natural blush color and applied to the apples of her cheeks. Pearl is also a very versatile illuminator and it gave her a nice natural shimmer. I used some neutral eyeshadow colors, a thin layer of mascara, and lightly filled in her brows. We topped the look off with a neutral lip color and she is done!

Hi beauties! We have a simple & natural before and after with Maskcara makeup to share with you! This is Loryanna. Isn’t she beautiful? Loryanna spent her youth as a competitive ballroom dancer so she was used to getting dolled up, with hair and makeup plastered on! Now she is a young mother to a sweet little one year old boy. I wanted to give her a simple every day look where she can quickly put herself together and have time to chase her little munchkin around.

How to Get Her Look

Loryanna had some redness & freckling, so Aura as her highlight was perfect to even out her skin tone, without covering up those fun freckles. After taking the Color Matching Quiz, we concluded that she had a cool skin tone and Ash was the perfect contour color for her face. I love how it brought her cheekbones out just right and enhanced her beauty! I wanted to give her a natural cheek so I mixed Desert Sunset and Pink Grapefruit on her apples and blended up through her cheekbones. Pearl gave her face a nice glow. I applied Bubba, Bright Eyes, and Stardust on her eyelids by using the deep crease method. Salem was the perfect color to fill in her brows and give them a little more shape. We topped the look off by giving her a light pop of pink on her lips with Pink Grapefruit. I love how light & airy it turned out!

I’ve got five kids, a great husband, a few businesses and a church responsibility.  Looking at my life might leave you feeling a little tired, I get it, I AM a little tired, but I certainly am happy.  One of the ways I keep all of this up is because I strive to keep things simple.  It really isn’t me to cook extravagant meals every day or worry too much about the house being spotless.  I keep things as simple as possible.  So, when Maskcara makeup came along, I knew I had to make the switch.  Here are 3 reasons why I threw away all my makeup and switched to the simplified Maskcara makeup.

1. One compact is all you need

The compacts are metal so that you can take each tin in and out as needed.  So in one compact you have your highlight, contour, blush, eyeshadow, powder and illuminator.  There is no need to have a million different products. Everything fits into one compact.

2.  No waste

Ever buy a compact of 12 or 15 shades of eyeshadow and you end up only really using one?  With Maskcara, you buy only what you need.  Then you create your own custom palette and makeup and pop it into your magnetic compact.  I used to take a whole bag of makeup when I traveled and now I just have this one compact that fits in the palm of my head.  Pretty amazing.

3.  Simple makeup routine = quick makeup routine

Maskcara Makeover Before and After

We absolutely love a good before and after! We especially love a good Maskcara makeover before and after! Our first before & after up on the blog is yours truly, JoEllen.

Color Choice

I’ve been wearing Maskcara products for a few years. I love how easy they are to blend & contour your face to look like a million bucks. I’ve used a few different cheek colors & tried a couple of different highlight colors over the years. But, it wasn’t until I got my artist kit that I was really able to experiment with colors & different looks. There are better color choices for certain types of looks. Want a natural, every day look? Yup…Maskcara has the perfect color for you! Want a more glam look to show off those gorgeous features? Yup…Maskcara has your colors! I stepped out of my normal makeup routine for this makeover & I love the results!

What I’m Wearing

I found my perfect highlight color with Amber. Years ago, I first ordered Sunlit, but it was way too yellow for me & I could see the cracks, creases, and texture on my face really well…in a bad way. When this happens, that means you must choose a shade darker. Amber was the winner!

I usually wear Dahlia on my cheeks, but I chose Pink Grapefruit this time around…wowza! I think I found my new fav! But instead of applying my blush with the Bronzer & Blush Brush, I found better success with applying with the round end of the 30 Second HAC Brush. It helped distribute the cheek color without overpowering my small apples.

Next I chose to contour with more than one color with a mix of Stone & Ash along my cheekbones, forehead, and jawline & Shadow along my nose. I think my new favorite tip with applying contour color is to use the Detail HAC Brush. I have a thin face so this brush helps me get more defined & delicate lines drawn on my face. This brush is also so great for applying highlight in small areas & helping place precise color on your face…it’s my new fav brush!

For my eyes, I just used the Deep Crease technique by using the I Shadow Everything Brush with Stardust, Basic, and Bright Eyes. I lined my eyes with black eyeliner & applied some mascara. Make sure you don’t forget your brows! I defined those bad boys with a brown eyeshadow by using the Hotline Brush. We’ll have a brow tutorial coming soon!

Then I topped the look off with some Pink Grapefruit on my lips and voila!
