Having Problems with Maskcara? These Tips Can Help!

Are you a Maskcara Beauty (now Seint) makeup user? Are you having a few problems with the products? It can be frustrating investing in new makeup and then not have it work how you want it! So, if you’re having problems with Maskcara, these tips can help!

Texture or Large Pores

If you’re finding that the highlight color is causing texture or accentuating your pores, then nearly 100% of the time it’s because you have the wrong color! The solution is that simple! Your highlight shade may be too light or too dark. When you have the right color for your skin, it will blend nicely and pretty much melt into your face! When you don’t have the correct color, it will give you that added texture and look gross on your face…and we don’t want that!

If the highlight color appears dry or chalky or adds unwanted texture to your face, then the color is too light. Try a shade darker.

If the highlight appears yellowy or orangey, try a shade lighter.

If the highlight melts nicely into your face, then you have the perfect shade!

Having Problems with Maskcara? These Tips Can Help!

Color Correcting

You may have different shades on your face. Most women do! You may have redness, melasma, brown spots, or dark circles under your eyes. And if that’s the case, then you will need an additional highlight color or two to help you color correct.

Here’s a simple image helping you find what color you need to minimize those imperfections:

Color Correcting at maskcarabeautygirl.com

We feel like the best one size fits all color to help you correct is Mango! It works well for dark circles, for deep redness, and for dark spots. You can apply it to the area that you need to color correct and let it sit. Then you can go over with your normal highlight color. Give it a try!

Warm or Cold Weather

Since Maskcara 3D foundation is cream, it can melt! So, in the warmer months, your makeup may appear extra loose. In the colder months, it will be harder. You might notice that it’s easier to apply when it’s at a good room temperature. If your makeup gets too cold in the winter, then you can take your blow dryer and lightly blow it for a few seconds for it to get a little looser.

Makeup Sliding Off

Are you having problems with Maskcara foundation sliding off your face?? It’s most likely because you put moisturizer or a primer on before and it needs to soak in better. If you use the Milk Moisturizer or another moisturizer before applying your makeup, then make sure you give it a good few minutes to really absorb into your skin. This will help your makeup apply better and stay on better!

You also might need to set your makeup. You can use the Maskcara Stay Setting Spray or a powder or both! This will help your makeup stay on all day.

Too Oily/Shiny

Is your face appearing extra oily or shiny by the end of the day? Since Maskcara makeup is cream, it will definitely add a dewy look to your face. But if you have oily prone skin, then you will need to set your makeup with a powder to absorb that excess oil.

We love the Vanilla Dust Setting Powder! It’s best applied with the Power Powder Brush. You can press the powder exactly where you want it. Or you can use a loose powder like Airspun. A good trick is to let it “bake”. After you apply your highlight, contour, and blush, take a good amount of loose powder with a brush or sponge and dab it on the areas of your face that are extra oily. Then let it sit for a few minutes to really let it absorb the oil. After a few minutes, you can take the B Squared Bronzer and Blush Brush to brush away the excess powder. You will be left with a nice matte look and your makeup should stay all day and you shouldn’t be shiny!

Have you heard of Abby? Well, you should get to know her because she is such a sweet Southern Belle! She is a blogger, YouTuber, speaker, etiquette coach, and wife & mother.  Her blog is a breath of fresh air! She recently did a review on Maskcara makeup and we fell in love with her charm and talent. Join us for a Maskcara Review by Lovely Things With Abby.

About Lovely Things With Abby

Abby says, “The key to leaving a fabulous impression with the warm glow of genuine likeability starts with this one ingredient: caring. By caring less about how you want to be perceived by others and more about how you’d like to make others feel in your presence, the perception people have of you will take good care of itself. Because more than the way you entered a room, what you wore, or how you ate your dinner (all important elements) people will remember how you made them feel.”

Wow. Can we get an amen?! When you care about how you treat people and how you make them feel, you will genuinely impress others. What great advice! Abby likes to focus on lovely things and making life beautiful. She has a lot of talent and likes to share it with others. She has served in Guam teaching English to children and she continues to find ways to serve today. Her blog focuses on lovely things through mommy, home, and lifestyle.

Pros and Cons

According to Abby, some of the pros of Maskcara makeup are:

  • It is a modern makeup look.
  • Maskcara has pretty colors.
  • Gives you a womanly look with the contoured cheekbones.
  • It is fast and easy to apply.

Some of the cons:

  • It is difficult to get a perfect color match online. Finding a local artist would be ideal so you can color match in person. If you have to make a color change, be prepared to wait for the process until you get your makeup. But she appreciates the great customer service that Maskcara provides and you can exchange or return your colors easily.
  • Without the setting spray it can wear off throughout the day.

Thank you so much Abby for the review on Maskcara makeup! Go get to know Abby and fall in love with her just like we did! Check out Abby’s blog here! And check out Abby’s YouTube channel here!

From Mom to Wow Makeover

This is my friend Jen and she is one talented woman! She is a mom to 5 beautiful children. She is a pro with nails and works from home. Her laugh is contagious and her smile is stunning! She is Tongan and is simply just a beautiful person, on the inside and out.  This mom to wow makeover was so fun to do and we both loved how it turned out!

What We Used

Jen has beautiful olive skin, so Amber went very well with her complexion. She has a cool skin tone and Ash brought out her cheekbones beautifully and shadowed her face in just the right places. We wanted a rosy cheek and Pink Grapefruit was the perfect touch! We used Rose Gold for her illuminator and it added a nice shimmer to her tan. I wanted to give her a fancier look than what she’s used to so I did a more dramatic eye. We used Mama, Oak, Bright Eyes, Sabrina Maskcara eyeshadows.  I LOVE Bright Eyes! It can be worn every day or put on heavier for a more dramatic look. This shade is very versatile and oh so pretty. I filled in her brows to give them more shape and definition.  We topped the look off by adding a bright lip. She is gorgeous!! The colors we chose for her can easily be worn less for an every day mom look or heavier for a wow look! Before and after from mom to wow makeover with Maskcara Beauty Girl on www.maskcarabeautygirl.com, come see how to makeover a beautiful face and what products were used.

Maskcara Highlight Help

One of the tricky things with buying makeup is finding the right color to match your skin. With Maskcara makeup, the cream foundations are meant to be used in one layer using 4 different shades: highlight, contour, cheek, and illuminator. The makeup gives your face a IIID effect without the layers and layers of makeup. The highlight shade should be closest to your skin color. This is meant to brighten or highlight your face, to make your face look alive. Here is some Maskcara highlight help to get you started on your Maskcara makeup journey.

Shades

Maskcara currently offers  shades of highlight colors (with darker shades coming soon) and these colors range from lightest to darkest, think Snow White to Pocahontas. Here are the shades and what skin colors they look best on:

Moonlit– This color is for very fair skin, fair like Snow White. This shade will look good on skin that has no redness and is pure ivory.

White Peach– If you have fair skin, with little to no redness or freckles, then this shade is meant for you!

Aura– Skin that is on the fair side but has some redness and freckling is a great match for Aura. I find this highlight color to be very versatile.

Sunlit– Have a medium skin tone with some redness or freckling? Then this is your shade!

June- For medium skin with olive skin tones.

Amber– Medium skin with lots of redness or medium dark skin with little to no redness works great with this highlight.

Wheat– If you have medium dark skin with lots of redness or dark skin with little to no redness, then this is for you.

Mango– The darkest of the highlight shades works great with very dark skin with some redness.

Goddess

Papaya

Cinnamon

Highlight Application Tips

Once you’ve chosen your highlight, here are a few tips to determine whether it’s a good match for your skin color.

  • If the color isn’t blending well into your skin, you need to choose a different shade.
  • If the highlight color appears dry or chalky or adds unwanted texture to the face, then the color is too light. Try a shade darker.
  • If highlight appears yellowy, try a shade lighter.

Maskcara (Seint) Troubleshooting Tips

Hello there! Maybe you’re new to Maskcara and you’re still getting your groove. Or maybe you’ve been using the Maskcara (it is now called Seint) products for a while and have mastered the techniques. Either way, I’m sure you’ve come across a few problems trying to get the makeup to work just right for you. It’s a learning curve and sometimes it takes lots of trial and error before you figure out what works best for you. Here are some things that I’ve come across that have been helpful for me or others I work with. Here are some basic Maskcara Troubleshooting tips:

Smooth Surface

Make sure to exfoliate a few times a week to have a nice smooth surface to work with. It’s crucial to moisturize your skin to make it nice and hydrated. This will ensure that your skin isn’t dry and flakey. Also, get rid of that peach fuzz! Use a facial razor to remove any extra unwanted hair you have on your face. With these steps, your makeup will go on flawlessly and make your skin glow!

Slippery Makeup

Are you having a hard time with your makeup sticking to your face? Then you might want to try moisturizing just at night and not in the morning. Sometimes the added moisture makes it harder for the cream foundation to adhere to. Or, make sure you apply your moisturizer and let it soak in for a good 10 minutes before you apply your makeup.

Disappearing Contour

Is your contour color disappearing by the end of the day? Try shading up to a darker color.

Oily Skin Problems

Having oily skin and using a cream foundation can be a bit tricky. Here are a few ways that you might want to try if you’re having a hard time staying dry all day.

  • Spray  Stay  Setting Spray before and after applying makeup
  • Stay spray can be applied heavily (it’s ok for it to be dripping). You can let it air dry before applying your makeup, rub it in with your hands, or start applying your makeup with your face wet. Try what works best for you!
  • Spray Stay onto your Perfector Sponge and blend your makeup.
  • Apply highlight, contour, blush, first and then spray with Stay Spray. Then apply the Vanilla Pressed Powder & illuminator last.
  • If all else fails, try a loose translucent powder to help absorb your extra facial oils. Let it set on your skin and “bake” before you brush off the excess powder.

Makeup Application

Use a light hand. You can always add more product. Start off with a light coat.

Try to apply the makeup in a stipple motion instead of wiping.

Highlight Problems

If the highlight color appears dry or chalky or adds unwanted texture to the face, then the color is too light. Try a shade darker.

If highlight appears yellowy, try a shade lighter.

Tips for Tools

Make sure you soak and absorb your Perfector Sponge in water and wring it out completely. You want it to be light and fluffy.

Clean your brushes weekly. Find out how HERE.

This makeup can work for so many skin colors, skin tones, and skin types! It’s just a matter of trial and error and figuring out what works best for your skin. Hopefully these Maskcara Troubleshooting tips will help you! Don’t be discouraged or afraid to try different techniques. Email us if you have any questions!
