I’ve personally tried them all. They all have their pros and cons but I like cream makeup the best! It’s the easiest to apply, most naturally looking on the skin, and most flattering. Yes please! But what if you have oily skin…can cream makeup work for you? Here are some tips to get cream makeup for oily skin to work and last all day!

The Benefit of Cream Makeup

Why is cream makeup the best? Cream makeup doesn’t sit on your face as a thick layer but rather melts into your face creating a second skin appearance. Most women want to look beautiful without looking too fake. And cream makeup gives you that coverage that you want without making it look like you have a ton of makeup caked onto your face! We want to enhance our beauty, not completely cover it up!

Cream makeup is wonderful on all ages! From teens to twenties, thirties to forties, fifties to sixties, and beyond! It can be worn as light coverage, medium coverage, or full coverage. It is extra beautiful on mature skin because it moves with the fine lines and wrinkles instead of sitting heavily on the surface accentuating the aging.

Cream makeup is so easy to use and very forgiving! It can blend like a dream and wipe away easily. With the right tools, you can beautify your face in a matter of minutes! You can apply the cream makeup with your fingers and blend with a brush or you can use brushes to apply and blend. There are so many options and you can make whatever works best for you!

Oily Skin Makeup Tips

If you have oily skin and want to make cream makeup work for you, you totally can! I have extremely oily skin and have been wearing cream makeup for 5 years. I’ve learned a few tips and tricks here and there and these are some things you can incorporate into your beauty routine to get cream makeup to apply well, last all day, and avoid that crazy shine!

• Sunscreen- This sunscreen HERE is a great sunscreen to apply before you put your makeup on. It gives your face a matte feel and keeps oil at bay all day!
• Primer- You would think that primer would be a good idea for oily skin, but you want to make sure that your primer is water based so your makeup doesn’t end up slipping off.
• Setting Spray- Spray your face with setting before and/or after you apply your makeup. Setting spray is like hairspray formulated for your face. It will help your makeup last all day. HERE is a great option.
• Powder- Apply a light layer of powder before you apply your makeup. Let it absorb the oils on your face. Then apply your makeup and set your makeup with powder again. (You can try before and after or just one or the other…. see what works best for you!). Try the “baking method.” This is when you really cake on the powder after your makeup application. Let it sit and absorb the excess oils for 5-10 minutes. Then take a powder brush and lightly brush away the excess powder. Your makeup will be nice and set for the day!

Try any or all those tips out to see what works best for you. It’s a matter of trial and error to see what works with your specific skin type. Try a combination of them and see what you love.

Oily Skin Skincare Tips

The key to a great makeup application is a great skincare routine! Here are essential skincare steps that you should be doing daily and weekly to maintain healthy skin:

• Cleanse, tone, and moisturize daily! No questions about it. It must be done. Commit now to not going to bed ever again with your makeup on! Wash off the dust, grime, dirt, sweat, oil, and makeup from the day so your skin can renew itself while you sleep! My favorite skincare is HERE.
• Exfoliate! Depending on your skin’s sensitivity, you should exfoliate at least once a week. Exfoliating will slough off dead skin cells, circulate blood flow, and get your skin feeling nice and smooth! My all-time favorite exfoliator is this salt scrub found HERE.
• Mask- Give your skin some TLC by doing a mask once a week. It will help heal and nourish your skin. My favorite enzyme mask is HERE and my favorite clay mask is HERE.
• Drink water- Keeping your body hydrated will do wonders for your skin! A good rule of thumb is to shoot for drinking half your body weight in ounces each day.
• Change your pillowcase often- You should be changing your pillowcase at least once a week to ensure a clean surface for your skin to rest on at night.

How to Use Seint Makeup with Oily Skin

Seint (formerly known as Maskcara Beauty) makeup is amazing! It’s a cream-based 3D foundation that gives shape to your face. But, if you have oily skin, you might be thinking that surely cream makeup is not meant for you! So, here’s how to use Seint makeup (Maskcara makeup) with oily skin so you can look your best!

How to Prep Your Oily Face

If you have oily skin, then a good skin care routine is key! You must cleanse, tone, and moisturize your skin daily. You can find awesome Seint skincare line is great for maintaining healthy skin.

Because you have more oil than normal, you don’t want to add more moisture on your face before applying your makeup. Simply cleanse your face in the morning with your cleanser and a microfiber cloth to start with a clean surface. Skip the moisturizer. If you want to use an SPF before applying your makeup, then this sunscreen is a great one that doesn’t add shine.

How to Apply Seint Makeup with Oily Skin

When applying your makeup, do it as normal. Using a brush, and not your fingers, will help you get the best application. Seint makeup brushes are the best brushes to apply the makeup for oily skin! Having the right tools is key to a great makeup application.

How to Finish Your Face with Seint Makeup

This will be the most important step in the process to avoid the shine! You must, MUST, set your makeup with a powder. Powder will help absorb any excess oil and give you that matte look. As an oily gal myself, I don’t want a dewy glow…I want it as matte as I can get! These are the best powder options that I’ve tried:

Vanilla Dust Setting Powder– this is great because it fits in your custom compact.

Airspun– This is a very inexpensive option that will last a long time!

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder– This is a higher end powder but it works so so well!

When you apply powder after your makeup, you can lightly dust it on with the Bronzer + Blush Brush. You can use the Power Powder Brush to lightly press it on. Or you can put a thick layer on with the Power Powder Brush and let it sit on your face for a few minutes to soak up the excess oils. Then you take the Bronzer + Blush Brush to brush off the excess powder. This method is called baking. It’s really great for women with very oily skin.

So yes, you can definitely wear Seint (Maskcara) cream foundation if you have oily skin! You’ve just got to try a few techniques to see what works best for you. Once you try it, you will love it!
