What You Need for Soft Summer Makeup
When it comes to soft summer makeup, less is more! You want coverage with a light layer of highlight, a little contour to help your cheekbones pop, some bronzer to make it look like you’ve been sunbathing, a touch of blush, and some illuminator to give you a glow.
The key is how you apply the makeup! Don’t use a dense brush because that will give you a full coverage makeup look. You want to use a fluffy brush to give you an airbrushed and light makeup look. The Blend Brush or the Blush/Bronzer Brush are perfect for a lighter application.
Along with how you apply the makeup, you also want to consider the colors. In the fall and winter, we reach for bolder and darker hues. In the spring and summer, we reach for lighter and brighter shades. Try toning down your contour with a more subtle share. Switch out your blush and lip color with a softer pink. Use lighter eyeshadow colors on your eyes. These tips will help you get a soft summer makeup look!
Bronzer
For summertime makeup, bronzer will be your best friend!! Bronzer will give you a sun-kissed glow without having to spend hours in the sun to get it! Bronzer is a bit different than contour. Apply it on your cheeks and cheekbones, forehead, nose, and chin. My absolute favorite bronzer is this crème bronzer! It gives you a very natural look that’s perfect all year round….especially during the summer!
A Little Soft Summer Makeup Trick
If you want a very light makeup look, then you will love this trick! Simply take a bit of your foundation and your favorite sunscreen or moisturizer and blend it together. Then apply it on your face and you’ve just created a custom BB crème that will give you a light makeup look. Give it a go and see how you like it =)
