What is a 10×10 Challenge?
So, what is a 10×10 challenge? A 10×10 challenge is a clothing challenge where you pick just 10 pieces of clothing to wear for 10 days straight.
What’s Its Purpose?
The purpose of this challenge is to think outside the box and wear your clothing in different ways. It’s to help you appreciate what you have in your closet. It’s to help you realize that you should put adaptable apparel in your closet. It’s to help you build a smart wardrobe that will work hard for you. It’s to help you simplify getting dressed. It’s a great way to interact with other women and cheer each other on! It’s just a great way to do something different!
When Can You Do the Challenge?
You can choose to do the challenge whenever you want! You can do it any time of year or any season. You can do it alone or with a group of friends. Even though you can do it whenever you want, it’s most fun to do it for each season. For instance, it’s fun to do the challenge in spring, summer, fall, and winter.
This challenge is especially fun when you document it on social media and use one of the hashtags for people to follow along: #spring10x10, #summer10x10, #fall10x10, #winter10x10, or #10x10challenge.
How Do You Pick Your 10 Pieces?
So, where do you even start?? How can you possibly go 10 days with wearing the same things over and over? The key is versatility! You want to pick pieces that are versatile! Pieces that can be mixed and matched. Pieces from the same color scheme so you can get by with wearing shoes or sandals that will go with all your pieces.
Go through your closet and drawers and choose pieces that are staple pieces. Pick tops, bottoms, and shoes that would all look great together. Try to keep your shoes at a minimum so you have more choices for clothes.
How You Can Adapt It To Your Needs
Now, if this sounds a bit overwhelming to you, there are a few things you can change up to adapt it to your lifestyle and needs. Here are a few exceptions you can make:
- Workout, lounge ware, or pjs don’t count
- You can choose to do Monday-Friday two weeks in a row instead of 10 consecutive days.
- If you feel like a piece isn’t working for you, you can switch it out for a better option.
- You can pick 10 pieces of clothing and not include your footwear in the challenge. Do what works best for you!
- Accessories don’t count so use them to your advantage!
What are Some Tips?
When planning out what 10 pieces to pick for your 10 days, here are a few tips that will help make the experience better:
- Pick a color common scheme. By doing this, you will be able to mix and match any of your tops and bottoms and shoes because they can all be worn together or on their own.
- Pick versatile pieces. Make sure that each piece can be worn in multiple ways.
