How to Incorporate Lip Oil Into Your Makeup Routine

Have you seen the craze about lip oil? Is it worth the hype?? Keep scrolling to see how you can incorporate lip oil into your makeup routine for those luscious lips!

What is lip oil?

Lip oil is like if lip gloss and lip balm had a baby! It’s a mix between the two that help give your lips hydration and nourishment. It can be tinted or untinted. It can be shiny or less shiny. There are lots of versions of lip oil!

You can wear it on its own or layered on top of your favorite lip color for added shine and hydration. I think it’s the perfect way to look put together when you’re running out the door. Swipe on some lip oil, put on your sunglasses, and you instantly look chic!

What does lip oil do?

This popular lip product is meant to hydrate, nourish, soften, and protect the lips. Most lip oils contain natural oils like jojoba oil, avocado oil, pomegranate oil, or apricot oil and other beneficial ingredients like vitamins A, C, D, and E.

What does lip oil do to your lips?

Not only does lip oil provide hydration for your lips but it also provides a healthy shine and glow. It works great on its own or layered over your favorite lipstick to help it look fresh. It gives that glow without the stickiness.

What are the best lip oils to buy?

The first lip oil I tried came from my friend as a gift. It was the popular and pricey Christian Dior Lip Glow Oil and I was hooked!! But not everyone wants to or can afford a $40 lip oil. So I bought and tested some of the most popular lip oils on the market and compiled a list for you:

  • Seint Lip Oil– This is $25. I love the slight opal shimmer it has, I love the smell, I love the formula. It’s a higher end one that is worth the money! It only comes in the one shade but it’s so versatile and looks great on all skin colors.
  • Florence Tinted Glow Yeah Hydrating Vegan Lip Oil– Get this for $16 at Ulta. It has a nice light formula and gives your lips a pretty pink look. It only comes in one shade.
  • Milani Lip Oil– Get this one for $9. It has a thicker formula and fatter applicator, but it smells yummy! It comes in 12 shades.
  • e.l.f. Glow Revival Lip Oil– This is $8 and is a great dupe to the Dior Lip Glow Oil. It comes in 7 shades on Amazon.
  • Christian Dior Lip Glow Oil– Get this for $40. It really is so good. I love the thickness of it. I love the applicator. I love the color options.

Here are my thoughts…my favorite is the Seint Lip Oil because I love the pretty glow it adds to my lips. My second favorite is the Dior Lip Glow Oil. I know it’s pricey, but it really is sooo good! And my third fave is the e.l.f. Glow Revival Lip Oil. It’s a great budget option that works well.
