The Skincare Revolution: Why People Are Investing More in Skincare Than Makeup

In recent years, there has been a noticeable shift in the beauty industry. People are now prioritizing skincare over makeup, sparking what many are calling a skincare revolution. Why is this the case? Let’s dive in!

Why Is Skincare a Priority Over Makeup?

Beauty goes through phases. There are makeup trends that come and go. There are techniques, colors, and products that cycle through popularity. But skincare remains the same. It is steadfast. The condition and care of your skin is always important. Yes, products change. But the importance of skincare will always be supreme.

But why is skincare a priority now more than ever? Hollywood, the media, and social media apps are constantly showing us how to look younger. How to avoid wrinkles. How to stop the aging process altogether. You can’t do that with makeup alone. You must invest in good skincare if you want to age gracefully.

Because we are behind the camera much more now, we are caring more about how we look. Nobody WANTS to look old! And we also have more options available to use.

When you have healthy skin, you don’t need to wear as much makeup! Your skin can shine through! When you wear less makeup, you actually look younger!

Long Term Skin Health Over Temporary Cosmetic Fixes

With this skin revolution, women are seeing how important it is to not only look good, but to feel good too. Our skin health is key to aging gracefully.

I see makeup as a bandaid. It will cover imperfections but it won’t heal them. Makeup won’t nourish your skin with a basic skincare routine like cleansers, toners, and moisturizers. If we want healthy, happy and glowy skin then we need to invest in retinols, exfoliators, eye products, and masks to help us get it! Investing in great skincare products will help us have long term skin health. And we don’t only need to apply products to our face but also ingest products that will help heal us from the inside out. The phrase beauty from within it true!

The Rise of Natural and Clean Beauty Products

As more information comes out about the effects the ingredients and products we put on our face has to do with our health, we are listening and paying more attention! We not only want good skincare products to help us reduce the signs of aging, but we want good ingredients that won’t harm us in the process. This is why natural and clean beauty products are much more important than they used to be.

The European versus American cosmetic standards is CRAZY! When we know better, we do better.

And we are also learning about anti-aging alternatives to Botox that are less harmful and that help us age gracefully.

The Benefits of Personalized Skincare Routines

Skincare is not a one size fits all! There are so many different products out there and as women, we have so many different skin types and skin concerns. That’s why it’s important to have a personalized skincare routine that will be best for your skin needs.
