Same Hangers
One of the biggest impacts for a prettier closet is to invest in all the same hangers. Whether you have a small budget or a larger budget, you can still invest in hangers. You can purchase plastic hangers, wooden hangers, metal hangers, or velvet hangers. You choose! Pick what fits your budget and style. You’ll be amazed at how much nicer just that one change can make for your closet!
When you hang your folded pants or skirts, make sure to hang the ugly side in. You want the nice folded side showing to give it a nice crisp look. It’s a simple act but will make your closet look less messy.
Organize Your Clothes
Here’s where you get to show a little creativity! Everyone has their preferences, so you get to decide how to organize your closet. You can choose to organize by style, by color, by size…by anything that makes sense to you!
I prefer to organize by style. I put all of my short sleeve shirts together, all of my long sleeve shirts together, all of my pants together, all of my skirts together, all of my dresses together, all of my outer wear together. Then within those groups, I organize by color. I go from light to dark. But you get to decide what works best for you and what looks the most aesthetically pleasing to you. Choose a way that will be easy for you to maintain.
Line Up Your Shoes
Don’t forget about your shoes! Don’t throw all your shoes at the bottom of your closet. For one thing, it will ruin them. And for another thing, it will make your closet look like a dump! If you have enough floorspace, then simply line them up nicely. If you don’t have a lot of floorspace, then invest in a simple shelf, rack, or hanging device where you can line them up. Keep them organized and happy and pretty!
Hang the Ugly Side In
Take good care of your clothes. Take a few extra minutes to keep your closet clean and organized. When you keep your closet pretty, you will enjoy opening those doors.
