Oliveda is a skincare line under Olive Tree People, built on the philosophy of waterless beauty. Rather than using water as the base in their formulas, Oliveda replaces much of it with olive leaf elixir (hydroxytyrosol) and other bioactive ingredients…meaning less dilution, fewer fillers, and more potency.

The brand sources olives and olive leaves from mountain groves in Spain and combines them with clean, high‑quality ingredients to support skin health, anti‑aging, hydration, and repair. Their holistic skincare approach helps nourish the skin from the inside out.

Oliveda’s mission goes beyond skin deep. Their waterless approach is also part of a sustainability and social impact vision. The water they don’t use in products is redirected to help build wells in regions that need clean water. Specifically, water wells are built in Africa with the money they save on not using water in their products.

Is Oliveda an MLM? Let’s Clear That Up

The short answer is yes. Oliveda (Olive Tree People) is an MLM (multi-level marketing company) or network marketing company.

However, Oliveda did not start as an MLM. For its first 20 years of business, it began in Germany and grew throughout Europe. Their waterless beauty products were available in high end spas and brick and mortar stores.

I just got back from a Olive Tree People convention and learned a few cool facts. In 1998, the founder of OTP…Thomas Lommel, predicted and dreamt that he would sell direct to consumer in the USA without wholesalers someday. His vision came to fruition 2 years ago! People he associated with thought he was crazy, but crazy people and their ideas can change the world! Here are some other interesting and impressing facts about Olive Tree People (Oliveda):

OTP is one of the biggest conservationists in the region where the olive groves in Spain grow.
The olive groves will soon be certified by Demeter in 2026 (This is the gold standard of biodynamic certification. This is a standard that goes beyond just organic).
OTP has over a $1 billion valuation.
In 2024, there was 3000% growth in the company.
OTP sold more waterless beauty products than all other brands together.
They are free of investors, liabilities, and debt.
They offer a 365 day return policy and only have returns on 5% of their orders.
Olive Tree People is the fastest growing waterless beauty company in the WORLD.

Now, if you’re not impressed after reading those facts, then I don’t know what will impress you. Olive Tree People is an MLM business model now. But they built their business from the ground up with blood, sweat, tears, patience and persistence in Europe and because of a crazy dream, it launched its direct to consumer business model in the USA in 2023. And because of that leap of faith, they continue to grow exponentially.

Common Myths About Network Marketing

There’s a lot of noise and misinformation out there about network marketing (aka MLMs), so let’s clear the air and tackle some of the most common myths:

Myth #1: “It’s a pyramid scheme.” Truth: Pyramid schemes are illegal and involve no real product or service being exchanged…just money. Reputable MLMs like Oliveda are legal, product-based businesses with real customers and compensation tied to actual sales. Myth busted.
Myth #2: “Only people at the top make money.” Truth: Income in network marketing is performance-based…not position-based. People who treat it like a real business, show up consistently, and serve their customers well can absolutely earn an income, regardless of when they join.
Myth #3: “You have to be salesy and annoying to succeed.” Truth: Nope. In fact, the most successful consultants are often the ones who don’t come across as pushy. Instead, they lead with education, share personal results, and build trust over time.
Myth #4: “It’s not a real business.” Truth: Network marketing is one of the most accessible business models out there. You don’t need a storefront, inventory, or massive capital to get started …just a product you believe in and a willingness to grow.

I wish people could get past these myths and give more MLM companies a try! Whether that means being a customer and supporting someone’s small business or enrolling as a rep in a company to earn an income. You never know until you try something! Why I Joined: My Honest Oliveda MLM Review

I’ve been part of several MLMs in my life. The first few I just enrolled because I wanted a discount on products that I used and loved. I didn’t take full advantage of the perks of building a business with a network marketing company until I enrolled with a makeup company.

My sister-in-law wanted to build a business together and see if we could be successful by just creating content online (blogging, YouTube, social media, newsletters) and never messaging friends or family or throwing parties. And you know what?? We were! We became top sellers and top leaders in the company. What started as an experiment turned into something much better. We created a community of women who wanted to learn and grow. We created a customer base that trusted us and supported us.

Fast forward to almost 2 years ago. I was approaching my 40s and was noticing the fun signs of aging…dark circles, under eye bags, fine lines and wrinkles, dull skin. I had always been great with doing a consistent skincare routine. But as I was aging, I was noticing that nothing I used was working and giving me the results I wanted. I invested in so many skincare products…especially eye creams, eye gels, and under eye patches. It was getting expensive and frustrating. And I was learning about the garbage ingredients most of us were putting on our skin…I was searching for cleaner and better options!

I kept seeing this waterless skincare company pop up in my feed. And then I started noticing people I personally knew were using the products. And then I saw they started selling the products. And I saw all the before and afters and was intrigued! I wanted those kinds of results!

After doing research on the brand and their story, the products and their ingredients, I was convinced I had to give it a try. What did I have to lose?! So instead of just buying a few products, I decided to enroll (because it’s basically like a Costco membership for skincare and I could save a lot more money purchasing a starter set.) And I dove in!

I immersed myself in learning about the different products, ingredients, and processes. I enrolled to change my skin. I didn’t have the desire to build another business. But once I continued to learn more about the company and opportunity and I fell head over heals for the products, I knew I had to go all in!

Oliveda is unlike any network company I’ve joined in the past. It has more heart. It has more purpose. It has products that are truly life changing. It has a generous compensation plan. It has a growth mindset.

Like I said before, I just got back from the Olive Tree People convention and it was amazing! Thomas Lommel is extremely generous. He blocked off a street in Los Angeles, lined the sidewalks with olive trees, covered the street with red carpet, and treated us like stars! It was held at the iconic Million Dollar Theater. We had lunch catered by Wolfgang Puck and a private concert with Colbie Collait. Everything he touches is luxourious. He doesn’t cut corners. He doesn’t hold back. He wants everyone to feel amazing. And we did. And we continue to with the products we use and the business resources we consume.

Joining an MLM company has been such a great decision for my life! It’s provided me with a creative outlet, a community, an income for my family, personal development growth, and friendships. It’s pushed me outside my comfort zone and stretched me in ways that have made me a better person. I’m more confident. I now consider myself a leader when my whole life I was too shy and stayed in the shadows. I can honestly say that saying yes to the opportunity has changed my life.

Breaking the MLM Stigma: My Personal Thoughts

Honestly, I think it’s sad that people can be so narrow minded and not even give some companies a chance to try their products just because they have a network marketing model. If a product is great, it’s great. It shouldn’t matter how it’s sold. That doesn’t change the quality of the product.

As an influencer, I work with tons of brands and affiliate marketing platforms. When I share a link through LTK with my followers, I get such a small portion from the sale when they purchase from one of my links…just 5%-10%!! When I work directly with brands, I get about 10% commission. With Oliveda, I can earn 25%-35% commission! That’s a HUGE difference! I would rather work with companies that are generous and that value their employees.

My followers and friends don’t have a problem purchasing through affiliate links. So then why does it matter that a product might come from an MLM??

Also, when you purchase from a big store, you won’t get one on one customer care. I value my customers! I created a special skincare guide just for them with tutorials and tips to help them get the best skincare results. I have a library of videos on YouTube for more education. They have access to me via text and email to ask any skin questions. I guide them. I educate them. I help them. You can’t get that type of care anywhere else.

I think MLMs are amazing! I think they provide tons of value for their consultants and customers. The type of training I get from corporate is incredible. We have multiple weekly trainings to continue to help us learn and grow personally and professionally.

Although I love the MLM business model, network marketing is not for everyone. If you are craving any of these things, it could be a good fit for you:

Know that building your own business in the MLM model is not a get rich quick method. It takes time. It takes consistency. It takes patience. It takes hard work. But it can be so rewarding! I have gals on my team that sell several thousand dollars a month and bring home a great income for their family. I have others that just sell a few hundred dollars. But it makes them happy because it pays for their monthly nails, shopping sprees, or music lessons for their kids.
