How to Melt Down Your Foundations
Maskcara makeup consists of cream foundations. Most people use their brush and repeatedly place it right smack dab in the middle when getting the product out. Over time, a big hole appears in the cream and it gets difficult to wipe the edges to get more product. So what does one do?? Enter melting. Melting??? Yup. You can melt your highlight, contour, and lip & cheek singles so they can become pretty and easier to use again. But make sure not to melt the illuminators…it will ruin the creamy shimmery goodness. Let us show you how to melt down your foundations…it’s so so easy and you can learn how to do it too!
Option 1: Electric Fry Pan
Take your electric fry pan and plug it in and allow it to heat up. Then carefully place the foundation single onto the hot surface. Watch the cream very carefully and see it melt back into a nice flat area. The hole magically disappears and you now have the entire tin covered again. Don’t let the cream get too hot and boil. Once the cream is melted, turn off the unit and allow it to cool before removing. And you’re done!
Option 2: Hair Straightener
Rest your hair straightener so the hot plates are parallel to the table. Plug it in and allow it to heat up. Very carefully, place the foundation single onto the hot plate. Watch as the cream melts. Once it is completely melted and before it starts to boil, take tweezers and gently remove the tin. This can be tricky and you may spill some of the hot liquid so be careful! Place onto a flat surface to cool completely. And that’s it!
Option 3: Electric Stove Top
This is my personal favorite way. Place the foundation single onto the burner. Then turn it on. Watch it as the cream foundation melts. Once it has finished melting, take a kitchen utensil and carefully nudge the tin off of the burner and allow it to completely cool. Boom….we’re done!
Why Would I Want to Melt My Makeup?
Good question. Really it is. With any other makeup, you really wouldn’t need to. But we’re talking Maskcara makeup and this makeup is one of a kind. You don’t HAVE to melt your makeup, but you can. And there reasons why you would want to melt your makeup would be:
- It’s easier to get the product out when it’s level in the tin
- It looks prettier
- You may want to put your makeup in a smaller tin to use in a smaller compact (like melting some lip color into an old eyeshadow tin and then having a collection of cute little squares of lip color in our square compact , now that’s a great idea!)
- Maybe you’re a Maskcara artist or a really generous friend and you want to share some samples of your makeup
- You want to take pictures of your makeup and it’s not looking so hot with a great big hole missing out of the middle
Have I convinced you yet? I don’t see why you wouldn’t want to melt down your foundations when it’s so darn easy! Hopefully these ways will be helpful for you so you can try it in your home…good luck!
