A new year is always a great time to refresh and organize your surroundings. And that also means cleaning out your makeup drawers! Here are some tips and products that can help you in your beauty cleanout. This is how to organize your makeup so you can have a cleaner home, less cluttered makeup bag, and simplified life.
Purge
The first step when you want to organize your makeup is to purge! I’m sure you have loads of products that you rarely use or have never touched. It’s time to purge those products and simplify! Gather all of your makeup, tools, and bits and bobs in one huge pile. Then go one by one and honestly ask yourself if you need it and use it. If not, then toss. If you do, then put it off to the side. Also, as you take each product one by one, look at each item and figure out how long you’ve had it. If it’s not a tool and you’ve had it longer than a year, toss it. It’s most likely expired and/or is a breeding ground for germs. If it’s a tool, do you use it often? If you do, then keep it. If you don’t, then it’s just taking up space in your drawer. Toss it.
Clean
Now that you’ve gotten rid of a whole slew of products, doesn’t that already feel better?? It feels so so good to get rid of the old! Next, look over each item, whether it’s a tool or makeup product, and clean it. Use Clorox wipes for the handles on your tools and outside of product containers, use Restore Brush Cleaner on the bristles of your brushes and on your beauty sponges, and use Restore Cosmetic Sanitizer Wipes on your makeup products. You want your tools and makeup to be nice and clean. You don’t want to be spreading your bacteria and oils and dirt all over your products. Clean them all up so you have sanitary products to organize!
Organize
Onto the fun part! Now that you have tossed the bad and cleaned the good, it’s time to organize your makeup. If you are a woman on the go, then you want to invest in a good makeup bag or carrier. That way, you can take your makeup with you and then store it in your bathroom when it’s not in use.
If you are a woman who likes basic, then look for organizers that are practical. These organizers can be tucked away under a sink or in a drawer and pulled out when you need them.

If you are a woman who likes glam, then look for organizers that are pretty and will go nicely with your décor. When you have pretty makeup tools, you want to show them off! So choose some organizers that will look nice on your countertops and help display your makeup nicely.
