What Are Hooded Eyes?

According to the Cadogan Clinic, “Hooded eyes feature a heavy brow bone with a deep-set crease. In hooded eyes, skin hangs down over the crease. This makes your upper eyelid look smaller. If you cannot see the crease when your eyes are open, then this means you have hooded eyes.” (resource) There are lots of women that have hooded eyes! It’s not a good or a bad thing…it’s just natural. But knowing how your eyelids are made will help you know how to apply eyeshadow so you look your best.

How to Apply Eyeshadow for Hooded Eyes

There is a strategy in applying eyeshadow for hooded eyes. Here are a few simple tips that you can use:

Apply a medium brown in the crease of your eye to give it dimension. Apply it with your eye open and blend it back and forth in the crease. This will help apply the color in and above the crease so you can see the color when your eyes are open.
Apply a light color on the inner 1/3 of your eyelid. This helps open and brighten up your eyes.
Apply a dark color on the outer corner of your eye. This helps draw the eye out. Apply it in a sideways V shape and blend it UP! This will lift the eye up.
Add a light color under the highest part of your brow and on the inner corner of your eye. This lifts and brightens the eye.
Don’t apply eyeliner on the entire upper and lower lid. Just focus on the outer corners. If you apply it fully on the upper and lower lashes, then it makes the eye look smaller. Focusing on the outer corners will help them look bigger.
For mascara, apply it on your top AND bottom lashes. This will help them look bigger and wider.

My Personal Experience with R + F Lash Boost Serum

Wearing makeup is fun all year round, but it’s nice to switch things up a bit to look and feel fresh. Your summer beauty routine calls for soft summer makeup…makeup that is light and airy but still helps you look and feel pretty. Here are some ways you can get that look!

Summer Makeup Coverage

Most women tend to prefer wearing less makeup in the summertime. It’s hot…whether it’s a dry or humid heat where you live or are visiting. We sweat more, we’re out in the sun more, we’re hot! So less always feels best! But we also like to have the makeup coverage to look put together. The key to getting that summer makeup coverage look is having the right products to give us the coverage without piling on the layers! A great solution is IIID foundation! This makeup is meant to be applied on your face exactly where you need it instead of layer over layer. You get the coverage you need without the thick layers. It’s the best! What You Need for Soft Summer Makeup

When it comes to soft summer makeup, less is more! Bronzer

For summertime makeup, bronzer will be your best friend!! Bronzer will give you a sun-kissed glow without having to spend hours in the sun to get it! Bronzer is a bit different than contour. You can watch a tutorial HERE on how to apply it. But, you want to focus on the highest points of your face where the sun would naturally hit. Apply it on your cheeks and cheekbones, forehead, nose, and chin. My absolute favorite bronzer is this crème bronzer! It gives you a very natural look that’s perfect all year round….especially during the summer!

A Little Soft Summer Makeup Trick

If you want a very light makeup look, then you will love this trick! Simply take a bit of your foundation and your favorite sunscreen or moisturizer and blend it together. Then apply it on your face and you’ve just created a custom BB crème that will give you a light makeup look. Getting Started with Seint Makeup

If you’ve heard about the popular iiid foundation makeup and have wanted to know more about it and how to get started, then you’re in the right place! As a Seint Artist, I’ll help you learn all you need to know about getting started with Seint makeup so you can simplify your makeup routine and look and feel extra beautiful!

What is Seint Makeup?

First of all, what is Seint makeup? You may be used to applying one layer of foundation all over your face to get an even full coverage. Then, depending on your preference and experience, you might add another layer of blush, contour, and/or bronzer. That’s a lot of layers! But with Seint iiid foundation, you apply one layer on your face.

Each foundation color (highlight, contour, lip & cheek, and illuminator) provides coverage and is only applied on your face exactly where you need it. It’s like a paint by numbers makeup application! After you blend, you’ll have beautiful coverage and only one layer of makeup on your face!

Seint iiid foundation gives your face life! It gives you dimension and shape without the cakey layers! Because it’s a cream foundation, it blends beautifully onto your skin and looks very natural. It works well on any skin type, age, and color!

Getting Started with Seint Makeup with the Right Colors

If you’re ready to jump into Seint makeup, it’s really important that you get the right colors…it will make all the difference! But how do you know what colors will work well on you?? You have a few options:

You can take a quick Seint Color Match Quiz for a general suggestion on your colors
The Seint Color Match Guide will help you pick out your own colors and products.
For personal makeup help, take the Seint makeup survey. This will help me know how to help you best. I will give you personalized makeup recommendations that will look amazing on you.
You can go directly to the Seint online store and choose a collection. Simply click on “Find My Shades”. Scroll through the images and choose the grouping of women that most closely matches your skin tone. Then add to cart. Super simple! You can learn more about each collection here: Collection No. 4, Collection No. 8, Collection No. 12 (I personally think the No. 12 collection is the best option! You get more bang for your buck and it comes with my two favorite brushes!)

Choosing the Right Seint Makeup Brushes

It’s crucial to have the right makeup brushes! If you want to have a great makeup application, you have to have great makeup brushes. Seint makeup brushes are specifically made to work with cream makeup. Please, please, please invest in at least ONE Seint makeup brush. It will make all the difference! My 2 favorite makeup brushes are the Detail Brush, Blush + Bronzer Brush, and Blend Brush.

Seint Makeup Tutorials

Once you have the right makeup colors and tools, it’s time to learn! Watch some Seint makeup tutorials to get an idea of how to apply the makeup. The cool thing is that there are lots of different ways to apply and blend the makeup. Play around with different techniques to see what works best for you. Some women like to do the finger painting method, some like to use one brush, and some like to use multiple brushes. There’s no wrong way!

Seint Products I’d Recommend for Beginners

If you are a beginner with Seint makeup, make sure to check out this Seint Makeup Guide for Beginners. It will show you all the things: how to set up your compact, how to replace tins, how to prep and use a makeup sponge, different makeup techniques and more!

There are so many fun Seint products to play around with! But as a beginner, it’s best to keep it simple until you feel confident with this new makeup. Here are the Seint products I’d recommend for beginners:

2 highlight shades (one for your main shade and one that is a little lighter than that so you can use it in the winter months or as a brightening highlight)
1 contour
1-2 lip + cheek shades (I would suggest a satin and a gloss so you can mix and match. These are some of my absolute favorite ones that look great on most women: Hollywood, Pink Grapefruit, Boardwalk, Nude, Madrid, Tropicana, Black Cherry, La Cienega, and Sadie).
1 illuminator– If you want a subtle look, go for cream. If you want a pop, then go for powder.
1-2 brushes– My very favorite brushes to start with are the Detail Brush and the Blush + Bronzer Brush.
Powder– If you prefer a matte look or if you have oily skin, setting your makeup with powder is key! You can use the Powder Brush or the Perfector Sponge to apply your powder.
The Perfector Sponge– This is key to a flawless blended look!
Palette– You will get palette credit when you purchase 4 or more makeup singles. I recommend getting at least the palette 8 (palette 12 is even better) so you have room to grow your collection. You may end up getting your palette for free! But it will at least be heavily discounted.

How to Buy Seint Makeup

To shop Seint makeup, you can go directly to my online Seint shop. To get started with Seint makeup, it’s best to purchase 1-3 highlight shades to accommodate for the different shades we have on our faces…plus, our skin changes colors with sun exposure. You’ll also want 1 contour color, at least 1 lip & cheek color, and 1 illuminator. This will give you a great starting point. Other items you might consider buying are:

Bronzer (if you want a nice sun-kissed glow year-round)
Powder (if you want a more matte finish or if you have oily skin)
Eyeshadows
Eyeliner
Brow Wax
Setting Spray
Brush Cleanser (this is the EASIEST way to clean your brushes!)

You definitely want to pick out a makeup brush or two! A good brush is KEY in a great makeup application!! Do not skip the brush! Seint brushes are specifically made to work with cream makeup. They will give you the best application and blending!
