When I think of Valentine’s Day, I think of pinks and reds! It can be a range of soft and subtle to bright and bold. Depending on how you choose to celebrate the day and with whom you’re celebrating with will depend on what makeup look you want to go for.
The great thing about wearing fun makeup for Valentine’s Day is that you can use the products over and over to recreate different looks throughout the year. You don’t have to splurge on something you’ll never wear again! I’m all about being intentional with how I spend my money and what products I choose to invest in. I don’t like wasting money or space.

How to Get the Perfect Red Lip
Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to bust out a bold red lip!! But using such a bright and bold color can be frustrating because the color can show imperfections, it can rub off onto your teeth, it can wear off with eating, talking, or drinking. - First, make sure your lips aren’t chapped, but are moisturized.
- Start by lining your lips to give you a guide.

1. Determine your skin tone. In general, here’s a quick way to determine your skin tone:
WARM SKIN TONE- THE VEINS IN YOUR WRIST LOOK GREENISH
COOL SKIN TONE- THE VEINS IN YOUR WRIST LOOK BLUE/PURPLE
NEUTRAL SKIN TONE- THE VEINS IN YOUR WRIST ARE IN BETWEEN
2. Stick to the same shade of undertone.
IF YOU HAVE A WARM SKIN TONE, THEN CHOOSE A RED LIPSTICK WITH A WARM UNDERTONE. (IT HAS MORE ORANGE OR BROWN IN IT.)
IF YOU HAVE A COOL SKIN TONE, THEN CHOOSE A RED LIPSTICK WITH A COOL UNDERTONE. (IT HAS MORE BLUE OR PINK IN IT.)
IF YOU HAVE A NEUTRAL SKIN TONE, THEN YOU CAN CHOOSE A RED LIPSTICK WITH EITHER A WARM OR COOL UNDERTONE.
3. Determine your preference.
IF YOU WANT A BOLD RED LIP, THEN CHOOSE A MATTE FINISH.
IF YOU WANT A SUBTLE RED LIP, THEN CHOOSE A GLOSS FINISH.
4. Consider a berry shade.
If you still feel like red is not for you, then consider trying a berry shade. You can still achieve a red lip look by wearing a berry shade on your lips instead.
